Carson certainly made this past week exciting! Unfortunately, we started with many sleepless nights. And I must admit, a crying baby in the middle of the night doesn't bring out the best in me. As exhaustion started to set in, we decided this would be the week we had to move Carson from our bedside basket to his crib in the nursery and try something different. So after a long week, Friday night we set up the video monitor and white noise cd in the nursery, adjusted his bedtime routine slightly, and hoped for the best. We laid Carson in his crib about 9pm... and wouldn't you know it... he slept STRAIGHT thru the night until 7am!!! Hooray!!! Mommy and Daddy were so excited!!!
Of course we said to ourselves, that this must be a fluke! "Pinch me, I'm dreaming!" But wouldn't you know it, on Sunday night Carson repeated the same thing and slept straight again 10pm - 7am... and then did the same thing last night!!! So now we're on 3 nights in a row and Jana and I are busting at the seams with excitement. Of course, we like to be realists and recognize that this could change at any moment or at the sign of teething, or sickness, etc. So although it may not last long, but we've just learned to appreciate good rest while we can. That being said, Jana continues to awake periodically to check on the little guy, preps bottles for Carson, and still does her fair share of worrying. Clearly, Jana's love for Carson never rests.
This has certainly been the coldest week of Carson's life, averaging (35-55F). Little does he know, this is just a preview of what he's in for when he goes to Ohio for Thanksgiving. We are starting to realize that we do need to get some more warm clothes for the little guy. If only Mason wasn't so big, Carson could borrow his wardrobe. Cold or no cold, I will say we are getting pretty excited for the holidays.
