Halloween, Election Day, & Vomit

HALLOWEEN

On Friday (Halloween) Carson decided to stay at home with his little friend Logan. Carson put on his pumpkin outfit to pass out candy... but we only had 1 trick-or-treater! I guess we're just not in the heart of Halloween country.

ELECTION DAY

I asked Carson what he thought about politics and he vomited! We took Carson to King Springs Elementary School this afternoon where we voted, and thankfully we didn't have to wait in line, unlike much of the rest of the nation. Obama vs McCain will certainly shape Carson's life more than he knows.

VOMIT

I'm not sure if it's all this political talk that's been bothering Carson or if it's his infant reflux. These last few nights Carson has really been fussy. He was doing great at getting up as little as 1 time per night, but last night it was every hour (by far his worst night on record)! By my estimations, his vomiting actually seems to be worsening slightly. We're not sure what to make of this, but when we think about him simply "outgrowing" it, it sure sounds like a long, tough road ahead for all of us. So we're still in search of the best thing to help reduce his vomit. Today our pediatrician prescribed Zantac for Carson, which we haven't picked up yet... but when we do our fingers will be crossed.

We've been expanding our search for Carson's Reflux Cure and have even been considering our our good friends' infant chiropractic suggestions. Nothing is really an easy decision for us here, because we hate to pump Carson full of meds, but allowing someone to push on his back isn't appealing either. Our friends have a great baby chiropractor contact for us, so I guess that's on the table. Although our cousin (Dr. Karen Hoffman) maintains that pediatricians' medicial protocols are the best approach. Online research regarding pediatric chiropractic seems to go either way.

HEARTS WITH FRIENDS

On another more serious note, our hearts ached for our friends Stu & Steph this week as they're working through the unthinkable news they received regarding their unborn son with spina bifida. God has given them incredible strength to steer through the maze of physicians and health care options.
