It's hard to believe, but Carson turned 18 months old this past week and his little personality is really starting to bubble up. I am very thankful to have such a good eater. Broccoli seems to be the only food that he has had an aversion to so far (he will learn to like Broccoli though...it's a super food!). My biggest challenge is keeping his little belly full. He is also starting to verbalize a lot more these days too. Our favorite things to talk about are animals. He likes to name them and make the accompanying animal sound (ex: "Lion"..."roar"). I love how he says "fant" for "elephant." In the last couple of weeks I have also been trying to transition him from two naps to one nap a day. When he was taking two naps, the nap times were just getting shorter shorter. Now he gets one good snooze in the afternoon and it also frees up our mornings for outings.
Speaking of an outing, Carson and I had the opportunity to visit the Children ImagineIt Museum in downtown Atlanta this past week. Carson loved the large train sets (of course), pushing around a mini shopping cart in the "grocery store," cooking in the play kitchen, and playing with a huge ball contraption. I'm sure this will not be our last visit to the museum.
Carson and I love to play outdoors, so the winter weather is wearing on us. However, we did have the rare opportunity to play in the snow when a "winter storm" blew into town. Charles came home from work early on Friday (Atlanta pretty much shuts down whenever it snows) and we all went out and made snowballs and attempted to make a snowman (God rest his soul). This morning there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground so Charles brought out his old sled out and Carson "sled" down the backyard. I'm not sure how Carson felt about it, but we sure enjoyed watching him on that sled.
