July 2012

We are at the tail end of summer and I wanted to make sure to post pictures of some of the fun things we did in July. We spent 4th of July with our good friends, the Harveys and the Allens. The weather was great and it was a perfect day for a barbecue, tractor ride, and afternoon swim. We had planned on taking Carson to see fireworks that evening, but he was so tuckered out from the fun day he had with his friends that he fell asleep in the car after dinner and didn't wake up until the next morning. So we celebrated with sparklers in our backyard on the 5th of July!

Later in July, Polly came to town with Madi, Reese, and Wes to stay with us for a few days. Carson loved playing with Reese -- they got along like brother and sister! We took the kids to a place called Catch Air where they had huge inflatables and  slides for the kids to play on. The kids loved playing dress up and hide-and-go-seek. It took Carson a few minutes to catch on to the hide-and-go-seek concept. When Madi told him to sit in a chair, close his eyes, and count to ten before looking for them, he got a little confused. He sat in the chair, closed his eyes, and began saying  "Dear God, thank you for this food." We had to remind him that he was closing his eyes to count and not to pray!
