Hmmm......... Baby Reflux?

So today, Jana took Carson to the pediatrician to seek a little more info regarding Carson's constant spit up. Carson's got this thing with projectile vomit. After most feedings, when Jana walks around the house burping him... after a few minutes, I'll hear the sound of milk splashing against the hardwood floors. Most people that have spent any substantial amount of time with Carson agree that his spit up seems a bit excessive. Jana's been doing her best to adjust tons of things from her diet to his eating schedules, but there doesn't seem to be a magic fix.

The doctor reassured us today that nothing is outright wrong. They simply suggest we give it a little more time after taking Jana completely off chocolate. That's right, I said no chocolate! Is Jana a super mom or what? I knew motherhood would be hard, but I didn't think it'd be "NO CHOCOLATE" hard. If that doesn't help after a couple weeks, when Carson goes for his 2 month checkup, they may give him some medicine (Zantac) for infant reflux/heartburn. I still can't decide if this reflux thing is harder on Carson or Jana.

Aside from that, Carson is doing spectacular. It's so fun to watch him start to see things and smile. I know Peggy hated to leave Carson after another long weekend with her favorite grandson. A friend of a friend actually gave me a big screen tv this week... for Carson that is. :-)

Jana, you are a super mom! My brother's son had to go on Zantac because of acid reflux. His doctor also said to not burp him so soon after eating. Just a hint--your doctor may have said something else.
We can't wait to see you at the reunion!!

You are both doing a wonderful job as parents!! We will keep praying regarding the baby acid reflux...I know how stressful it is when the little guy cries so inconsolably!!
Love always!!

I don't know if I could be a mom if I had to give up chocolate! I'm sure it is well worth it, though. :)
